Reporting into the VP of Business Operations within the Business Operations team, the IT Manager will act as AVK's internal lead for technology infrastructure and cybersecurity, ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable as the business continues to grow. Working closely with our outsourced IT provider (CodeZero), this role will manage day-to-day IT operations while defining AVK's longer-term strategy for in-house capability, digital resilience, and data compliance. The IT Manager will play a strategic role within Business Operations, partnering with the Head of Data to ensure the right infrastructure, governance, and policies are in place to support ISO accreditation and strong data protection standards.
Requirements
- IT Vendor and Relationship Management (35%)
- Act as AVK's internal point of contact for all IT operations delivered through CodeZero
- Maintain a strong working relationship with CodeZero, ensuring collaboration and clear communication
- Coordinate hardware acquisition, installation, and lifecycle management through CodeZero
- Support a smooth and efficient onboarding process for new starters, ensuring hardware, access, and setup are ready on day one
- Keep internal teams informed on any planned changes, upgrades, or outages
- Strategic IT and Infrastructure Planning (25%)
- Define AVK's IT roadmap in collaboration with the VP of Business Operations and the Head of Data
- Identify opportunities to improve resilience, user experience, and data security
- Align infrastructure and tools with AVK's broader business operations and data strategy
- Cybersecurity and Data Compliance (20%)
- Oversee cybersecurity activities delivered through CodeZero, ensuring protection standards are upheld
- Partner with the Head of Data and compliance team to maintain GDPR and ISO 27001 compliance
- Maintain risk registers, incident documentation, and recovery procedures
- Support regular reviews of data access, permissions, and device security, alongside the wider business operations team.
- Systems Oversight and Support (10%)
- Manage day-to-day user experience across Microsoft 365, Fabric, SharePoint, Teams, and related tools
- Work closely with CodeZero on configurations, permissions, and issue resolution
- Support integration between Microsoft tools and key business platforms (Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.)
- Provide second-line support for internal users and elevate as needed through CodeZero
- Work closely with the Head of Data to help build the data architecture for AVK
- Policy Development and Reporting (10%)
- Maintain AVK's IT and data protection policies (acceptable use, access, retention, etc.)
- Support internal and external audits with clear evidence of IT controls and standards
- Alongside our Enablement Manager, develop simple guides and training materials to promote good IT and cybersecurity practice
- Provide structured updates to the VP of Business Operations on key risks, progress, and improvements
Technical Expertise
- Minimum 4 years' experience
- Experience managing outsourced IT providers or MSPs
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and related admin environments
- Understanding of ISO 27001, GDPR, and general IT governance standards
- Capable of managing IT assets, licenses, and device security with clear documentation
- Skilled communicator with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical users
