As an Intermediate Commissioning Engineer at AVK, you would be working alongside our commissioning engineers being involved in the commissioning phases of large M&E & Data Centre projects throughout the UK and EU. The ideal candidate for this role would come from a generator maintenance/service background with a minimum of two years' experience. You will support the commissioning engineers in all pre-commissioning activities and commissioning/site acceptance testing activities. During this time, you will be further trained by a commissioning engineer and your progression will be nurtured and tracked.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting Technicians and Engineers: Supporting skilled workers during the testing and verification of equipment, ensuring systems are operating correctly.
  • Tools and Equipment: Transporting and setting up tools, machines, and other materials needed for testing or inspections.
  • Completing Installation Work: Assisting with installation tasks such as control panel modifications or connecting equipment under supervision.
  • Cleaning and Preparing Workspaces: Keeping work areas organized and prepared for tests or inspections.
  • Safety Checks: Assisting in performing safety checks and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Data Collection: Assisting in recording readings or observations for reporting.
  • Working alongside the commissioning engineering team.
  • Assisting in carrying out factory witness testing to meet the customers' specifications/requirements.
  • Assisting in carrying out pre-commissioning activities to the manufacturer’s specifications and client requirements of generator sets.
  • Completing test documentation/paperwork and issuing it to the commissioning manager/project team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the power generation industry.
  • Hold a higher degree in electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and technical knowledge.
  • Hold a full valid driving licence.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
