Handling payments across many countries brings real regulatory obligation, and the number of those obligations grows with every market we enter. You would own that: the processes, the monitoring, and the judgement about what is proportionate - because compliance that nobody can follow is not compliance.
The work
- Customer due diligence and anti-money-laundering processes
- Keeping us aligned with payments regulation in each market we serve
- Regulatory relationships and enquiries
- Reviewing new markets and payment methods for risk
- Training the team on the obligations that affect their work
What we are looking for
- Four or more years in payments or financial services compliance, with working knowledge of AML and the relevant payments regulation.
- Multi-jurisdiction experience, and practical judgement about proportionate risk.
Where you work
This role is based in London, with most people in two or three days a week. The rest of the company is remote, so you will not be the only person on a video call - but this particular job is better done in a room with other people, and we would rather say that plainly than discover it six months in. We sponsor visas for it. Apply from any country: if you are the person we want, we will sponsor your work visa and cover the move - the application fees, the legal costs, and the relocation itself. Our People team runs the process with you rather than handing you a form and wishing you luck.
Pay and the rest of it
£65,000-£90,000 a year, reviewed every year against the market for where you live, plus share options - everyone here owns a piece of the company. Flexible hours, a budget for whatever laptop and desk you actually want, an annual learning budget, generous paid time off that we check people take, and paid parental leave for every parent however you become one.
