We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Motor Underwriter to join the UK Commercial Solutions Team, supporting trading teams in developing solutions for complex cases and risk profiles. This role is ideal for someone with high underwriting authority seeking to expand their knowledge and segment expertise, creating market-leading propositions for individual cases and business blocks in collaboration with the Trading and Broker Performance Teams.

About the job:

  • Assist with Underwriting Strategy, principles, best practices, and processes.
  • Lead the development of open market propositions for the Mid-Market segment.
  • Develop and lead strong Commercial Motor Underwriting capabilities across trading teams.
  • Monitor and analyze performance in the Mid Market Commercial Motor Segment to support SME planning and performance, linking with the CUO Team.
  • Build expertise and knowledge across the Commercial Motor Sector.

Skills and experience:

  • Experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter with high authority, eager to develop knowledge across Property and Liability classes to complement Commercial Motor Underwriting expertise.
  • Understanding of performance issues at the segment level for Mid-Market, Scheme, and Small Commercial Business to inform actions and identify opportunities or threats.
  • Strong commercial acumen to develop and deliver business cases.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills within a large organization.
  • Good knowledge of risk management applicable to the Commercial Motor Segment in Mid-Market.
