This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop themselves in a multi-application team, with opportunity for further learning and a varied career at Aviva. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining approximately 15 web applications as part of a platform team providing data and reporting technology services. You will be working on a mixture of new projects, as well as the modernisation of legacy tech; analysing existing services and designing solutions to current business challenges.

You will be a self-starter, who can take initiative, identify areas for improvement and bring solutions and suggestions to the team, as well as enjoying varied responsibilities across the project lifecycle.

A bit about the job: This role is part of an infrastructure & Software team, which is upgrading our technical services into our next phase as a function. You will be part of a team who cares deeply about allowing colleagues to bring their whole self to work. This role will support the implementation and commissioning of projects, which will include some work out of standard working hours. You will enjoy working collaboratively with your team colleagues to ensure consistency of approach and quality.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience of certain technologies: C# .NET, HTML, CSS, Blazor, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, Git Source Control, API interaction.
  • Strong communication skills, being able to describe technical problems at different levels.
  • Ability to organise your work to agreed priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to listen to and understand user feedback and provide pragmatic solutions, effectively communicating technical problems and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility of activities owned, creating your own plan to deliver, escalating issues and risks where needed.
