A bit about the job

In this role, you will support a large‑scale transformation programme to strengthen programme‑risk decision making, ensuring we protect our customers, our people and our reputation. You will work as part of our 1st line Governance & Assurance (G&A) team, contributing to the delivery of our strategy and helping streamline how we manage risk across the Health area. You will partner closely with transformation programmes, providing expert oversight of governance, assurance, risks and controls; support our risk committees, deliver high‑quality analysis, and embed SMCR accountabilities. Ultimately, you will make sure the transformation programmes have a clear, accurate view of their risk profiles and that decision‑making is well‑informed and well‑governed.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience of agile / sprint‑based delivery of large‑scale transformation, governance and change assurance within Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of modern platform‑based transformations.
  • Successful record of building strong relationships and influencing senior stakeholders with credibility.
  • Strong risk‑management capability, with good understanding of a large organisational risk‑management framework and its application.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear, meaningful insight.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Salary circa £75,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity – 12% of annual salary (actual amount depends on performance and Aviva’s).
  • Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Aviva‑funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
  • Up to 40% discount on Aviva products and other retailer discounts.

  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle‑to‑work.
  • Supportive policies including parental and carer's leave.
  • Make a difference, be part of Aviva Communities and use your paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
