A bit about the job: You’ll join our London Retail Marine team, which has doubled in size over the past two years and continues to grow through multinational business. This role exists to help us manage and grow a profitable portfolio while delivering strong underwriting discipline and customer outcomes. You’ll underwrite complex marine risks, build strong broker relationships, and manage business from prospecting through to renewal. You’ll also support colleagues with technical expertise and help shape how we trade and grow in a competitive market. Your work will drive financial performance, support compliance, and strengthen our position with brokers and customers.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience underwriting marine or cargo risks in the London market
  • Confidence handling complex risks and making underwriting decisions
  • Strong relationship skills with brokers and customers
  • Ability to assess risk, spot opportunities, and manage a pipeline
  • Clear communication skills, including presenting and explaining decisions
