This is a great job for you if you’re a senior pricing leader who enjoys owning complex problems and being trusted to solve them. You’re comfortable operating at pace, working directly with underwriters and senior leaders, and representing pricing without needing close direction. You like variety, ambiguity, and having real influence over outcomes.
A bit about the job: You’ll join our Global Corporate & Specialty Pricing team, supporting the Probitas Lloyd’s syndicate following its integration into Aviva. The team partners closely with underwriters and the wider business to deliver technically robust, commercial pricing. This role exists to lead major pricing initiatives, embed Aviva ways of working, and act as a senior face of pricing. You’ll be accountable for complex pricing decisions, delivery of transformation projects, and mentoring team members. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy and trust.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading on case pricing for complex accounts
- Acting as a senior pricing partner to underwriters and directors
- Owning complex pricing decisions and explaining them clearly to stakeholders
- Embedding Aviva processes across newly integrated Probitas teams
- Leading work across AI, machine learning, and pricing automation
- Working closely with exposure management, BI, and data teams
- Coaching and mentoring Pricing Managers and Analysts
- Operating flexibly across lines of business as priorities shift
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Extensive General Insurance pricing experience, with strong exposure to the London Market or Lloyd’s syndicates, and the credibility to operate confidently with senior underwriters and directors.
- Proven ability to lead and own complex pricing work, including large account or portfolio pricing, technical decision‑making, and explaining outcomes clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with experience guiding Pricing Managers and Analysts, developing talent, and acting as a trusted senior figure within a pricing team.
- Demonstrated experience driving change and transformation, such as embedding new pricing processes, improving data and tooling, or leading initiatives involving automation or advanced analytics.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the judgement to operate independently, balance competing priorities, and represent pricing as a senior face of the function.
- Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA) with significant post‑qualification experience, typically three years or more, in a relevant pricing, portfolio, or actuarial leadership role.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
- Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
- Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
- Up to ÂŁ1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
- Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
- Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
- Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
- We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
