This role would suit someone with strong technical skills and understanding of climate-related risks and opportunities for financial institutions in particular across the investment and underwriting business, metrics and target setting and associated climate-related market, policy and regulatory developments, climate-based investments assessments and experience in delivering on climate-related technical and analytical projects.
A bit about the job:
- You will lead on technical projects associated with the evolution of our strategy to transition to net zero of our investment portfolio (including sector and asset class decarbonisation and developing and implementing frameworks); as well as the underwriting and operational portfolios.
- You will also provide technical oversight of climate metrics and targets, develop tools and support data projects and Group lead supporting the wider Aviva teams on climate-related investment opportunity evaluation and decision making and any related investment case analysis and technical lead for the business planning exercise related to climate.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong experience built in climate-focused technical delivery, ideally with a focus in financial services.
- Solid experience within the investments area, with strong knowledge of asset classes and investment decarbonisation strategy.
- Expertise in developing and/or applying sector carbon pathways and methodologies.
- Deep understanding and experience using climate-related data, metrics and tools and related guidance and frameworks relevant for financial institutions (e.g. NZAOA, GFANZ, UNEP FI, NGFS), and wider climate datasets and providers.
- Deep understanding of climate-related developments covering policy, regulation, and disclosure areas and ability to lead, manage and prioritise a number of climate-related activities and workstreams, alongside building and maintaining effective relationships across the business to ensure buy-in and delivery.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £60,000 and £100,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
- Bonus opportunity – 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
