This is a great job for someone who is an experienced Property Underwriter with strong technical expertise and is ready to step into (or continue in) a regional leadership role. A bit about the job:
As a Regional Underwriting Manager – Property, you’ll be responsible for creating and delivering the region’s Commercial Property business plan, ensuring strong portfolio performance and sustainable growth. You’ll act as a technical subject matter expert, supporting the underwriting teams with complex referrals and non-standard solutions. You’ll play a key role in developing underwriting capability through coaching, mentoring and quality oversight, while working closely with senior stakeholders to respond to market opportunities and emerging risks.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and deliver the region’s Commercial Property business plan with focus on portfolio performance and sustainable growth
- Act as a technical subject matter expert, supporting underwriting teams with complex referrals and non-standard solutions
- Develop underwriting capability through coaching, mentoring and quality oversight
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to respond to market opportunities and emerging risks
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in Property Underwriting, including managing complex and non-standard risks
- Previous experience leading, coaching or mentoring underwriting teams or individuals
- Strong portfolio management capability with a focus on profitability and retention
- Ability to build and maintain effective broker and market relationships
- Good understanding of the insurance regulatory environment and underwriting governance

- Salary Circa £100,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
