If you are passionate about private assets, structured finance, and shaping the future of annuity investments, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
A bit about the job:
The AAO team works closely with Aviva Investors and a select group of external managers to originate around £7 billion annually in long‑dated, cashflow‑matching assets that support our annuity business. These assets span both public and private markets and are essential to Aviva's long‑term strategy.
As our new Asset Origination Manager, you will be supported by a team of analysts and work under the guidance of the AAO Head of Private Assets and Senior Managers within the team. You will lead on private asset transactions, explore new asset classes, and help shape investment strategy through research, structuring, and modelling.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline; professional qualifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of private and public cashflow‑generating assets, especially structured and securitized assets, ideally including the structures and features that are attractive to UK annuity investors.
- Knowledge of annuity pricing and governance, and coding ability (VBA, Python, Matlab) are also desirable.
- A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to driving change and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to committees.
What you will get for this role:
- Salary c. £90,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 10% annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
- Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
- Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
- Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
- Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer's leave.
- Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
- Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
- We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
