This role exists to provide technical accounting leadership across reinsurance, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial control, and robust governance. You'll play a key part in delivering a safe and controlled month-end close while acting as the go-to expert for reinsurance accounting matters. Working closely with teams such as Financial Reporting, Actuarial, and Finance Business Partners, you will help resolve technical issues, support audit activity, and improve processes. Alongside day-to-day delivery, you will also contribute to finance transformation initiatives, helping embed more efficient, automated, and well-controlled ways of working.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Strong technical accounting expertise across General Ledger, financial control, and IFRS (IFRS 17 desirable), with solid understanding of reinsurance
  • Qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) with experience in audit-focused, well-controlled environments
  • Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g. iCare / ORCM) and ability to identify, assess, and resolve risks
  • Highly analytical with a curious, improvement-focused mindset and experience in process enhancement and automation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and operate effectively in a changing environment
