We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our UK Litigation team, supporting litigation within Avivas Legal function.

This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative and supportive team, managing a varied caseload and advising on a range of litigation matters.

Youll play a key role in delivering high-quality legal advice, supporting both routine and more complex claims, and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

We are part of the broader legal team and work closely with our colleagues across the Legal function.

We are a busy team that delivers first class legal advice to our broad range of internal stakeholders and defends Avivas position in a variety of interesting litigation matters.

This role will involve managing a caseload of small claims and fast track litigation relating to Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Income Protection as well as Claimant recoveries litigation.

You will also be supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex claims and advising the business on complaints that have the potential to escalate to litigation and responding to queries from the business across a range of topics from pre-action guidance to limitation queries and settlement terms.

You would have the opportunity to work together, and build strong relationships, with legal and commercial colleagues on a variety of interesting and challenging matters.

Legal Executive, Solicitor, or barrister entitled to practice in the UK Litigation experience, including a good knowledge of the litigation process and civil procedure rules and experience in investigating, managing and responding to either complaints or pre-action correspondence.

Ability to manage relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, third parties and external advisers Knowledge and/or experience of the financial services sector would be beneficial Excellent oral and written communication, drafting, and problem-solving skills What youll get: Our purpose with you today, for a better tomorrow is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
