Are you someone who is passionate about partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs? Aviva are looking for Underwriters to join our teams to be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business! This role does require you to go out on broker visits across the North West broker market so there is a need to be flexible with travel.
A bit about the job:
- To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business.
- To be a great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice.
- To deal end to end with brokers/customers book of business.
- To embrace and understand our SME strategy.
- To be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Previous property & liability underwriting experience is essential.
- The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
- Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
- Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
- Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases.

- Starting salary Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
- Bonus opportunity – 8% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
