A bit about the job: As the Trading System Support Team Leader at Aviva Investors, you will lead and develop a high-performing Trading Application Support team, ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our front-office trading technology stack. This role involves overseeing a diverse range of trading platforms and market connectivity tools—including Aladdin, Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Trumid, Liquidnet, Virtu Triton, Macrobond, and Morningstar—used by Global Trading teams across London, Singapore, and North America. You will ensure that systems supporting traders and portfolio managers in Credit, Fixed Income, Equity, and Investment Transitions operate seamlessly and securely.
Key responsibilities include managing and mentoring the team, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents, engage with senior stakeholders and vendors, and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Advanced knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, network topologies, firewall/gateway)
- Proven experience supporting trading platforms (Aladdin, Bloomberg, etc.)
- Level 3 IT support, log analysis, and monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Tanium)
- Solid grasp of trade lifecycle, asset classes, and market connectivity alongside scripting & automation (PowerShell, Python) and basic SQL (desirable)
- Familiarity with cloud and virtualisation (Azure, AWS, VMware) (desirable)
- Advanced stakeholder & incident management: Skilled in handling high-pressure situations, coordinating across global teams, and managing relationships with internal and external partners.
