A bit about the job: You will join Aviva’s Global Corporate Specialty (GCS) Real Estate Underwriting team, focusing on delivering tailored solutions for our property investment clients. In this role, you will underwrite profitable business within an aligned portfolio, working closely with brokers through face‑to‑face engagement and operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels. You will actively seek opportunities to grow your book through new business and renewals, make day‑to‑day underwriting decisions, and mentor junior colleagues to support their development.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Extensive underwriting knowledge within commercial property insurance, including real estate expertise
- Proven ability to negotiate case terms with brokers at a senior level and build strong business relationships
- Experience coaching, training, and mentoring others in technical subjects
- Strong attention to detail, including experience conducting internal and external underwriting audits
- Ability to analyze complex information and present findings clearly in various formats
