If you’re ready for a step up and enjoy working independently while supporting a busy team, this role could be perfect for you. You’ll thrive if you’re proactive, detail‑oriented, and passionate about helping the business stay ahead of regulatory changes.

You’ll join our Compliance team, working closely with the Compliance Manager and Head of Compliance to help ensure the business remains aligned with all relevant regulatory requirements. In this role, you’ll provide clear and practical guidance to colleagues across the business on a range of regulatory matters, supporting them in navigating complex compliance expectations.

You’ll play an active part in strengthening the overall compliance framework by contributing to key projects and initiatives, as well as supporting horizon scanning to identify upcoming regulatory changes and helping to implement any required updates. The role also involves assisting with financial crime prevention activities, including handling sanctions queries and contributing to the annual financial crime risk assessment.

In addition, you’ll support the preparation of compliance reporting for key committees, ensuring accurate and timely insights are delivered. As a more experienced member of the team, you’ll also help guide and support junior colleagues with day‑to‑day activities, contributing to a collaborative and knowledgeable compliance function.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong knowledge of PRA, FCA, and Lloyd’s regulations.
  • Previous experience in a compliance role within the insurance sector (Lloyd’s Managing Agency experience preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A pragmatic, solution‑focused approach to compliance challenges.

What you’ll get for this role

  • Competitive salary depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s).
  • Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Aviva‑funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
  • Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
