We have an exciting opportunity for a risk and governance professional who is passionate about driving and influencing a positive risk culture at Aviva. The role will join our team of risk and governance specialists to support the growing and ambitious Personal Lines Insurance Business β with a focus on the Strategic Partnerships and Broker distribution channels. If you care about delivering good customer outcomes, bringing people together to find solutions, and learning new skills then this could be the role for you!
A bit about the job
The Risk Business Partner is part of the 'first line of defence' within Aviva's UK General Insurance Business' G&A (Governance & Assurance) Team. You will support our Personal Lines colleagues to meet the requirements of our Operational Risk and Control Management Framework β ultimately protecting good customer outcomes, reducing losses and mitigating reputational and regulatory impacts.
You will be responsible for continually developing an effective and efficient risk and control environment, facilitating the risk event management process, and supporting internal governance β which all involve collaboration with specialist colleagues from across the business and strong stakeholder management skills. As part of this role, you will also help teams understand the causes of failures, which will be delivered through root-cause analysis and thematic reviews.
Whilst this role primarily focuses on supporting the Partnerships and Broker business areas, there will also be opportunities to get involved in wider team activities: delivering improvement projects and key strategic initiatives.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks, particularly governance and control requirements, and experience in change management processes.
- Understanding of regulatory and legal implications for operational change, ideally including Consumer Duty and relevant General Insurance regulations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Problem solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve challenges.
- Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
What you'll get for this role:
- Salary circa Β£50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
- Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
- Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
- Up to Β£1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
- Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer's leave.
- Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
- Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
- We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
Aviva is for everyone. We're inclusive and welcome everyone β we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Excited but not sure you tick every box? Even if you donβt, we would still encourage you to apply. We also consider all forms of flexible working, including part time and job shares.
We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you. Most of our people are smart working β spending at least 50% of their time in our offices every week - combining the benefits of flexibility, with time together with colleagues.
