We have an exciting opportunity for a Property & Casualty Midmarket Underwriter to join our team in our London Office. It would be a bonus if you can underwrite motor trade business too. You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their existing commercial book of business within Aviva.

This is a great job for someone who can partner with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions.

A bit about the job

As an Underwriter you will work collaboratively within one of our London Underwriting teams to support both the Senior underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financials. You will need great organisation and time management skills, including the ability to manage your own diary successfully in a fast‑paced environment. Regularly visiting brokers to develop, build up and strengthen working relationships, as well as ensuring continued visibility in the market.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience, Motor Trade knowledge would be a bonus.
  • The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
  • Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
  • Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
  • Strong commercial business insight to create and deliver business cases.

  • Salary – Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity – 8% of annual salary (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s).
  • Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
