This is a great job for you if you’re an experienced pricing professional who enjoys owning work, leading others, and working closely with underwriters. You’re comfortable balancing technical depth with stakeholder engagement, and you like having the freedom to shape how work gets done. You want to develop others while continuing to grow your own impact in the London Market.

A bit about the job:

You’ll join our Global Corporate & Specialty Pricing team, supporting the Probitas Lloyd’s syndicate, part of Aviva following acquisition. The team works closely with underwriters to deliver technically robust pricing for complex and high‑value risks. This role exists to lead pricing projects, manage junior team members, and act as a trusted pricing partner to the business. You’ll be accountable for the quality of pricing decisions, delivery of projects, and development of your direct report. You’ll also contribute to wider transformation work across data, tooling, and AI.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading pricing work on London Market case pricing and portfolio reviews
  • Acting as a day‑to‑day pricing partner for underwriters
  • Managing and developing at least one Pricing Analyst
  • Owning pricing projects and contributing ideas on how to approach complex problems
  • Supporting rate reviews, performance monitoring, and portfolio deep dives
  • Working with exposure management, BI, and wider teams
  • Contributing to pricing tool, automation, and AI‑enabled initiatives

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong General Insurance background, ideally within the London Market or Lloyd’s, with experience in pricing large or complex risks.
  • A strong technical foundation and the motivation to continue professional development.
  • Proven experience working closely with underwriters, acting as a trusted pricing partner, owning technical outputs, and confidently explaining pricing decisions and assumptions.
  • Ability to lead and manage work independently, including overseeing at least one Pricing Analyst, prioritising multiple projects, and contributing ideas on how to approach complex pricing problems.
  • Experience supporting pricing change and improvement, such as rate reviews, portfolio analysis, pricing tools, automation, or data‑driven initiatives, with the judgement to balance technical rigour and commercial needs.
  • Newly qualified actuary (FIA/FFA), with recent qualification through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

What you’ll get for this role:

Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too. And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you. We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus
