A bit about the job: We're on a cloud transformation journey at Aviva, and security is at the heart of it. As a Cloud Security Architect, you'll join our Application & Platform Security team and work closely with Cloud Engineering and Architecture teams to embed security into every design decision. You'll lead the development of scalable, automated security solutions across Azure and AWS, helping us deliver resilient, compliant cloud services that enable innovation. You'll design and implement cloud security controls, run threat modelling and risk assessments, and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines. You'll also help shape our cloud security strategy and mentor others, driving best practices and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect operating in enterprise-scale environments.
- Deep expertise across Azure and AWS, including Networking, IAM, and cloud-native Security Services.
- Experience designing secure landing zones, cloud guardrails, and baseline configurations aligned with organisational standards.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and secure‐by‐design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to TDA reviews with clear, security‐focused guidance combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
What you'll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £85,000 and £95,000 (Bristol) or £95,000 and £110,000 (London), depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
- Bonus opportunity of 12% (Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's).
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
