About the role
A bit about the job: We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Advisory Senior Manager to lead our marketing and distribution compliance function within the wider Advisory Compliance team. In this role, you will shape and develop a critical area of the business, providing expert technical and advisory support on regulatory and strategic matters related to distribution and marketing, and working closely with colleagues across Sales and Marketing at Aviva Investors. You will lead a team of three, guiding the delivery of global technical support on product distribution and overseeing advice on all marketing activity across EMEA. Your responsibilities will include supporting international compliance teams, providing day-to-day regulatory input on marketing materials, maintaining key cross-border marketing rule databases, and reviewing distribution agreements. You will also contribute to distributor oversight processes, deliver training to Aviva Investors staff, and support the business on regulatory and commercial changes, including ESG and sustainable finance initiatives. Additionally, you will lead the development of marketing and distribution policies, act as the Compliance lead for Conduct Risk, contribute to senior management reports, and provide ongoing advice and training to Business Development teams. You will also support the Head of Advisory and Regulatory Development in mentoring and developing colleagues across the Compliance function.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of three and deliver global technical support on product distribution and marketing advisory across EMEA.
- Provide day-to-day regulatory input on marketing materials and maintain cross-border marketing rule databases.
- Review distribution agreements and contribute to distributor oversight processes.
- Deliver training to Aviva Investors staff and support regulatory and commercial changes, including ESG initiatives.
- Develop marketing and distribution policies; act as the Compliance lead for Conduct Risk.
- Contribute to senior management reports and provide ongoing advice to Business Development teams.
- Mentor and develop colleagues across the Compliance function in collaboration with the Head of Advisory and Regulatory Development.
Skills and experience
- Degree or equivalent level of industry and technical experience.
- Significant experience of advising first line business on sales and distribution activity.
- Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders on complex regulatory issues.
- Financial promotion compliance experience covering UK or European collective investment schemes, ideally in an asset management firm.
- An excellent understanding of the current regulatory environment relating to ESG, and a willingness to further develop this understanding.
