A bit about the job: The Governance & Assurance (G&A) Business Partnering team operates as part of the first line of defence within Aviva’s UK General Insurance Personal Lines business. The role focuses on strengthening the risk and control environment, supporting effective governance, and enabling well managed change that delivers good customer outcomes. You will work with colleagues across Personal Lines—primarily Direct Line businesses—to ensure compliance with the Operational Risk and Control Management Framework. This includes facilitating risk event management, delivering root‑cause analysis and thematic reviews, and supporting internal governance forums. You’ll collaborate with specialist teams, provide clear risk insight, and offer constructive challenge to help prevent failures, reduce losses, and mitigate regulatory and reputational risks.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience working with risk and control activities within a regulated environment, ideally with exposure to the insurance industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Consumer Duty requirements and applies these principles in day‑to‑day activity, ensuring customer outcomes, product value, and fair treatment are consistently considered across General Insurance processes and decisions.
- Solid understanding of the principles and value of effective risk and control management and recognises the importance of good conduct and governance.
- Shows resilience and adaptability, responding positively to new challenges and changes in direction.
- Experience of facilitating effective risk event and issue identification, root cause analysis, resolution and reporting.
