Home Claims Technical Consultant – Salary circa £35,000
We are looking for new colleagues to join our technical claims team, working alongside our Home claims and field teams providing technical advice, development and capability support.
This is a great role for someone who is politically agile, skilled communicator/conflict manager, adaptable to situations, able to challenge and positively influence others at all levels, internally and externally. If you are someone with considerable technical experience dealing with and managing or adjusting Home Property claims, then don’t hesitate to apply for this job!
A bit about the job:
You will provide technical support to our UK wide desk/field teams as well as our first notification of loss and complaint teams. The role will involve managing complex claim referrals and supporting and tracking the ongoing capability development of our teams. You will develop standard methodology, claim handling philosophies and technical guidelines ensuring service delivered is good and technical/required standards are followed. You will also work closely with our learning and development colleagues on the delivery of capability programmes for internal teams through identification of opportunities to upskill, coach and improve.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience managing or adjusting mid-to-high value domestic buildings claims (£50,000+) and / or resolving complex and sensitive claims.
- Strong technical understanding of insurance principles, policy coverage (including FOS approach), claims validation, and fraud; experience in scoping reinstatement works and buildings pathology is desirable.
- Experience in in effective stakeholder management – including customers, brokers, and service providers – with a proactive, pragmatic approach to resolving complaints and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Effective collaborator with the ability to be reactive, adapt and to focus on detail.
- Experience in coaching and upskilling others, with a track record of developing best practice guidance for internal / external colleagues; professional qualifications (CII, CILA etc.) desirable or the ability to demonstrate equivalent technical experience.

- Starting salary circa £35000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
