Head of Growth and Investment Advocacy – Aviva

This role is for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes. You will shape public policy, influence investment environments, and collaborate across sectors—from local government to universities—driving strategic impact. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys leading initiatives, managing teams, and aligning public affairs with commercial goals in a fast-paced, purpose-driven business.

What you’ll do

You will lead the Growth and Investment team within the Political Advocacy function of Group Public Affairs. Drive and coordinate strategic engagement with Combined Authorities (CAs), local government, and institutional partners to unlock regional investment opportunities. Align Aviva’s investment priorities with the Group Public Affairs strategy and broader business objectives. Champion and communicate Aviva’s economic and social impact to build influential political and institutional relationships that advance regional and national goals.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate across teams with a strategic, commercial and solutions-oriented mindset; track record of delivering cross-functional collaboration and aligning strategic objectives.
  • Extensive experience in public affairs and/or political roles.
  • Deep understanding of regional economic development, regeneration, institutional investment, and local government structures.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to navigate complex political and organisational environments.
  • Experience in financial services or a large corporate environment (desirable).
