This is a great job for someone who loves leading technology teams through complex, high-impact transformation that modernises Finance applications and data at scale. You’ll thrive if you enjoy bringing diverse teams together—Finance, Data, Architecture, and Markets—to deliver clear, measurable outcomes, and managing sizeable change portfolios with care, balancing ambitious roadmaps with robust service, risk, and regulatory standards. This role would suit an experienced technology leader, or an ambitious senior manager ready for the next step, from insurance or financial services who has previously delivered large, multi-year Finance change covering regulatory reporting, Finance data, and platform engineering in a cloud-first environment.
A bit about the job:
You’ll lead Finance technology change and run activities across actuarial and data processes that power Group Finance, Accounting, Finance Operations and Markets delivery. You’ll own the application landscape and delivery of the technology roadmap—driving automation, data transformation and platform modernisation—while safeguarding service continuity, IT risk and regulatory needs (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17). Partnering closely with the Central Data Office, Group Functions Architecture and Finance, you’ll deliver outcome‑driven roadmaps, technology leadership and ensure benefits are realised. You’ll steer a significant change portfolio and an application estate, aligning priorities to Aviva’s strategy and major programmes, including Markets change and M&A.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Track record leading multi‑year, multi‑million‑pound Finance technology transformations in regulated environments (insurance/FS), including regulatory reporting (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17) and benefits realisation.
- Strong knowledge of Finance systems, technology environments, actuarial models/processes, Finance data in a cloud‑first setting, and enterprise/functional architecture—able to define outcome‑led roadmaps.
- Inclusive leader who builds persistent, cross‑functional and supplier teams; skilled in scaled agile/value stream delivery and senior stakeholder management (Finance SLT/Markets).
- Comfortable owning run and change for a sizeable application footprint, ensuring service continuity, IT risk & control adherence, and regulatory engagement.
- Able to translate strategy into plans and decisions using data and insight; communicates clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences and thrives in fast‑paced, interdependent portfolios.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Salary London circa ÂŁ130,000 / National circa ÂŁ110,000 based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – 25% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
- Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
- Make your money go further – Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
- Up to ÂŁ1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
- Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
- Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
- Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
- We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
