This is a great job for someone who has Property underwriting experience (or strong underwriting process knowledge from an administration‑based role) and is ready to take the next step in a market‑leading team. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys building broker relationships, negotiating face‑to‑face, and taking ownership of their own portfolio. We’re looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded, and excited to grow their technical and behavioural capability with full support from Aviva.
A bit about the job: This is an exciting opportunity to join Aviva’s market‑leading Property Investors team as an Executive Trading Underwriter. You’ll underwrite your own portfolio of Property business, operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels to secure profitable growth while pursuing new opportunities across the market. You’ll work closely with brokers and customers to understand their needs and deliver high‑quality underwriting outcomes. The role is based in London and you’ll meet brokers regularly for face‑to‑face negotiations. You will also take ownership of your own development, with strong support from the team to help you achieve your career ambitions.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Underwriting experience and a solid understanding of underwriting processes
- Proven face‑to‑face broker or customer engagement skills, including negotiation
- Ability to analyse complex information and extract the key facts
- Strong attention to detail with a positive, adaptable mindset
- Good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
