About the job

You’ll join our GenAI Platform team, where we design and build reusable, secure GenAI services that power AI‑driven applications across Aviva. Your work will help us create a resilient, production‑ready GenAI platform – supporting everything from LLM integration and prompt engineering to observability, automation, and cloud infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with architecture, data science, engineering and business teams to deliver impactful solutions that help us grow and innovate.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong software engineering background, including microservices and API‑driven systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java or similar languages, with strong DevSecOps practices.
  • Cloud native skills (AWS EKS/Azure) and IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Good understanding of security, monitoring, observability and experience working within Agile environments.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting Salary National £60,000 – £70,000. London: £80,000 – £95,000 depending on skills and experience.
  • Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary – actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14% depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays; you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
