The insurance industry is evolving in an age of rapid technological development, and as an organisation Aviva are investing in strengthening AI and analytics as a distinctive capability. The team you will be joining is recognised as a centre of excellence in our Global Data Science Department and with Aviva’s return to the Lloyd’s of London specialist insurance market, we have ambitious plans to grow GCS and provide expert support for our customers in an ever-changing world.
A bit about the job:
The GCS Data team will aim to transform our business by using a growing stack of data-assets to achieve tangible outcomes. Through strong internal and external stakeholder partnerships, we will enable a market leading data-driven organisation that empowers our expert colleagues. As part of the team, you’ll have a key role in shaping the future of GCS insurance, applying cutting-edge analytics, providing new data-driven insights and helping to build successful, productionised AI solutions that improve decision making for our stakeholders. You’ll also grow your own skillset alongside, including through continuous learning as a member of Quantum, our dedicated Data Science community.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- An inquisitive mind with a desire to get to the heart of the problem.
- Experience in solving complex problems using data-driven solutions and sharing knowledge.
- Ability to articulate the value of work and present information effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Relevant experience in data science through statistical modelling or programming languages like Python, SQL, R, C++, etc.
- Best practices in AI and ML are favourable, and experience with Lloyd's and the London Market is beneficial but not mandatory.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £40,000 - £50,000 London based or £30,000 - £40,000 National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance
