You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of insurance by enabling predictive analytics and data science through robust, scalable data solutions. This is your opportunity to work at the heart of Aviva’s Quantum Data Science Practice, supporting critical areas such as Claims, Pricing, Financial Crime, Fraud, and Underwriting.

A bit about the job:

Data is the foundation of everything we do at Aviva. As a Data Engineer, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that builds and maintains the data pipelines powering our analytics and AI capabilities. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, well-documented data is available where and when it’s needed. Your work will directly influence how we serve our customers and make strategic decisions.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in data engineering using Snowflake and dbt, with a solid understanding of DataOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code in SQL or Python. Experience with Scala, Java, or similar languages is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data engineering, particularly in AWS environments.
  • Experience in data quality assessment (profiling, anomaly detection) and data documentation (schemas, dictionaries).
