We have an opportunity for a Corporate Governance Manager to join our team. This is a great job for someone to support the Group and Plc Company Secretarial team, ensuring the provision of high-end corporate governance support!
A bit about the job:
- You will be responsible for providing end-to-end support to a portfolio of Aviva Group Centre entities, including board meeting attendance, minuting, support and administration (including drafting agendas and corporate governance papers, and loading papers).
- Engagement with directors and senior management, advising and training directors of companies within the Group to ensure that their statutory duties are discharged effectively using the Companies Act and UK Corporate Governance Code (as applicable) to ensure that we meet our company obligations.
- The role holder would also be involved in ensuring statutory filings and records are made and kept up to date at all times including Board appointments, share transactions, and overseas requirements.
- You will also provide support to corporate transactions and listed company compliance requirements (as applicable), assisting with the preparation of external reporting including authoring and verifying corporate governance content within the Annual Report and Accounts and support for other listed company compliance activities for example the AGM.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Qualified company secretary with company secretarial and corporate governance knowledge, gained from working for FTSE 100/250 companies previously.
- Superb senior stakeholder management skills, confident communicating up to Executive/Director level.
- Solid knowledge of company law, administration, and corporate governance, with a particular emphasis on the UK listed company environment.
- Excellent self-management i.e., the ability to work independently, making business critical decisions.
- Attention to detail, matched with excellent presentation & report writing skills.

- Starting salary circa £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
- Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
