Commercial Trading Underwriter

Locations - Flexible across the UK, but must be within a commutable distance to an Aviva office. We are seeking a multiclass trading underwriter to join our Commercial Underwriting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a growing team with a broker and customer base across the UK, where the person in this role can also be based anywhere in the UK and benefit from Aviva’s smart working arrangements, with a mix of home and office working.

A bit about the job: As an Underwriter, you’ll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You’ll drive the success of our New or Existing business teams and play a pivotal role in developing professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. We are looking for people who want to be part of a dynamic team with a track record of building relationships in the market and winning business. We also offer support in studying for relevant CII qualifications.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Current or previous Commercial Underwriting experience is essential in either Property & Liability and/or Motor and/or Motor Trade
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
• Demonstrate desire to build knowledge and gain experience in the insurance industry
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and work within set Underwriting Licence frameworks
