At Aviva, we’re on a journey to transform how we engage with our customers, and we’re always keen to hear from talented people who want to be part of that transformation. This advert is for future opportunities within our architecture community, and we welcome interest from Solution Architects at all stages of their career. Whether you’re an experienced architect or earlier in your journey and looking to grow, you could play a key role in working with IT projects to help deliver meaningful change across Aviva.
These opportunities are ideal for people who enjoy building end-to-end solution designs that are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service and security perspective. The focus is primarily on applications and integrations, supported by a solid understanding of the underlying technical infrastructure. You would be part of a wider global architecture practice and contribute to driving, improving and promoting the value of architecture across the organisation.
A bit about the role:
- Crafting solutions across Aviva’s IT application estate, defining solution architectures and integrations that align to Aviva’s technology standards and ambitions for availability, security, resilience and performance.
- Supporting, coaching and mentoring less experienced Solution Architects as part of a collaborative architecture community.
- Providing leadership on key designs to balance long‑term IT roadmaps with short‑term delivery needs.
- Performing early triage and shaping of IT initiatives to support investment decisions and initial delivery planning.
- Producing high‑quality design artefacts to support service, security, architecture and engineering teams.
Skills and experience we’re interested in:
- A passion for technology and how it can be used to deliver better outcomes for customers.
- Strong design and architecture skills, with experience of agile delivery methods (depth and breadth will vary by level).
- Exposure to cloud technologies is desirable, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- The ability to contribute to business cases and inform key design decisions with sound financial awareness.
- Technical experience that may be broad across multiple domains or deeper in a particular specialism.
If this sounds like a role you’d like to explore in the future, we’d love to hear from you.
