A bit about the job: We're growing and modernising our ServiceNow platform, and you'll play a key role in shaping its future. You'll join our Service Platforms leadership team, working with colleagues across Technology and the wider business. The role exists to strengthen our platform strategy, improve performance and enhance the experience for thousands of Aviva users. You'll guide our roadmap, support major upgrades, and make sure our platform is secure, stable and ready for the future. Most importantly, you'll help us unlock the platform's full value and drive better outcomes for our customers and colleagues.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- ServiceNow platform leadership: Proven experience owning and managing ServiceNow in a large enterprise, including demand management, technical governance, upgrades, releases, and integrations.
- Strong technical expertise: Hands-on knowledge of core ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, Core Platform), CSDM/CMDB, analytics, reporting, platform intelligence, licensing, and performance tuning.
- ITSM & Agile delivery: Experience working with Agile methodologies and best-practice ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, and release management), with ITIL4 knowledge desirable.
- Governance, risk & compliance: Experience collaborating with Risk, Resilience, Security teams, and internal/external auditors, ensuring platform compliance and effective controls.
- Leadership & stakeholder management: Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders (CTO level), ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive effective escalation and decision-making.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary £85,000 - £95,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
