Overview
This role is for someone who wants to grow their tax expertise and make a real impact on how we design and administer our pension and savings products. A step‑up role for a tax professional keen to work closely with colleagues at all levels and solve complex problems. The position requires knowledge of pensions and/or savings tax and a desire to broaden and deepen skills in all Customer and Product Taxes.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring our pensions and savings products are administered in full compliance with UK tax rules.
- Providing clear guidance to colleagues on tax requirements.
- Collaborating with project teams on product creation or updates, reviewing product literature, and liaising with HMRC when needed.
- Supporting Product, Operations, Policyholder Tax and LifeTech teams to deliver good outcomes for customers and the business.
- Providing continuity and capability to the team, with a future succession path.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- An understanding of customer and product taxes.
- Ideally, experience in pensions tax, savings products or chargeable events; knowledge of inheritance tax and trusts would also be helpful.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple, easily understandable way.
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and external industry bodies.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement.
