A bit about the job: We're investing heavily in our Enterprise Data Programme, one of the most important transformation initiatives across Aviva. As Head of Enterprise Data Services, you'll lead the design, delivery and operation of the platforms and services that help colleagues access trusted, consistent and reusable data across the organisation.
You’ll build and lead a specialist engineering function of around 20-30 colleagues, supported by architects, analysts and delivery partners. You’ll have end-to-end accountability for Enterprise Data Domains, Data Services, API distribution, discovery capabilities and workflow platforms, helping create the foundations for advanced analytics, AI enablement and future business transformation.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll shape strategy, drive adoption, manage significant investment and establish the long-term operating model for Enterprise Data Services across Aviva.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Significant experience leading large-scale enterprise data engineering, platform engineering or data services organisations
- Proven track record delivering enterprise-wide data transformation programmes within complex and regulated environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise data management, master data management, data governance and modern cloud-based data platforms
- Experience building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary engineering teams, including suppliers and strategic partners
- Deep technical expertise across cloud platforms (AWS), APIs, event-driven architectures, platform engineering and modern DevSecOps practices
What you’ll get for this role:
- Salary: London circa £150,000/ Bristol circa £120,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 25% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
- Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
- 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
