A bit about the job:
- You’ll lead the Cloud Design, DevOps and Infrastructure team within the Group Functions Finance Data Platform in Aviva, owning the delivery and future development of the AWS Gen2 cloud platform and providing technical and delivery leadership across multiple projects.
- You’ll plan and track roadmaps to deliver infrastructure and tooling, driving continuous improvement through automation, efficient CI/CD pipelines and cost optimisation.
- You’ll also plan and support the technical delivery of infrastructure migrations, upgrades and proof‑of‑concept work, including technical debt initiatives.
- Alongside this, you’ll manage infrastructure costs and sustainability measures, contributing to budgeting, forecasting and cost recovery.
- You’ll shape how we deliver scalable, secure and efficient infrastructure, helping teams work faster and smarter by playing a key role in improving processes, controls and automation across the platform as well as being accountable for delivering reliable data infrastructure, supporting change projects, and building a high‑performing team.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience leading and supporting technical or engineering teams, including setting priorities, managing workload and removing delivery blockers.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver infrastructure or platform roadmaps, with a focus on automation, CI/CD and continuous improvement using tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, CDK, Terraform, Python, JSON.
- Experience managing technical delivery of infrastructure work, including migrations, upgrades and proof‑of‑concept initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), DevOps and infrastructure‑as‑code, designing and managing scalable serverless infrastructure with experience using technologies such as AWS Glue, Lambda, MWAA, Kubernetes/EKS.
- Ability to manage infrastructure performance, including cost optimisation, compliance, security, patching and stakeholder collaboration across teams.
