A bit about the job

As an Trading Underwriter, you’ll be aligned to a portfolio of brokers and customers across the Midlands and South West. You’ll be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs, while proactively developing and profitably growing the book. You’ll partner with brokers to understand their needs and deliver whole customer solutions using data insights. This role involves regular broker visits, so flexibility to travel is essential.

You’ll operate across multiple classes within agreed guidelines and authority levels, and we welcome experience in motor disciplines. You’ll be a key face of Aviva, building trust through meaningful face‑to‑face engagement and helping make Aviva the insurer of choice.

Skills and Experience We’re Looking For

• Previous underwriting experience is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present effectively to brokers and customers.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work within a large, complex organisation.
• Good knowledge of FCA and relevant regulation.
• Commercial acumen to develop and deliver business cases.
