Actuarial Team Manager Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified or nearly qualified actuary to join the Liability Production team, and in so doing gain exposure to a broad range of actuarial deliveries across all reporting metrics and lead a team that is the building block for all regulatory reporting. A bit about the job: This is an exciting and fast paced role leading a team of both onshore Aviva staff and a larger offshore team in delivering all modelled liability results to support Aviva’s financial reporting requirements across all deliveries and metrics (including SII and IFRS). This role provides excellent exposure and experience across the full breadth of reporting deliveries and excellent exposure to a wide range of senior collaborators across the wider IWR team providing a great opportunity to increase your professional network and support future career progression. In this role you will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality, well controlled reporting results to a reporting timetable to a wide range of collaborators with the support of your combined onshore and offshore team. Outside of quarterly reporting periods you will be responsible for supporting adhoc investigations, strategic projects and internal development work to improve process efficiency and controls. Key skills you will develop while in this role will be team management, timetable management, senior stakeholder management, ability to multitask and prioritise, ability to flex and change approach and priority as dictated by circumstance, technical knowledge across all reporting deliveries, importance of controls and relationship with our internal and external auditors. Skills and experience we’re looking for: A qualified or nearly qualified actuary with good knowledge of how the various reporting and capital metrics work Ability to work independently, prioritise and take responsibility for ensuring that deliverables are met Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within the UK IWR Chief Actuary’s team, with colleagues across Finance and with other stakeholders across the business Team management – ability to lead an onshore and offshore team effectively ensuring delivery and wellbeing is prioritised Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner What you’ll get for this role: Our purpose – with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
