Telematics is changing how we understand and price risk. At Aviva, it’s a core part of our future pricing strategy, with real investment in data, tooling and capability. This is a chance to step into a genuinely specialist role where you’ll shape how behavioural data is used in pricing at scale, not just refine existing models. If you’re already working in telematics or usage-based pricing, this is an opportunity to take real ownership in a space that’s evolving quickly.

A bit about the job

Our Telematics Pricing team sits at the centre of how we bring behavioural data into pricing. Using rich telematics datasets, we’re improving how we segment risk, personalise pricing and develop our overall proposition. As a Telematics Pricing Manager, you’ll play a key role in moving this forward. This isn’t traditional pricing. You’ll be working with behavioural and usage data to shape modelling approaches, influence pricing decisions and support how our telematics capability continues to develop. You’ll work closely with Pricing, Data Science and Product teams, combining technical expertise with commercial thinking. There’s also the opportunity to help grow capability in this area, supporting others and building knowledge across the wider team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading telematics-focused pricing activity, from modelling through to delivery into market.
  • Developing and enhancing pricing models using telematics and behavioural data to improve risk segmentation and pricing accuracy.
  • Using large, complex datasets to generate insights that directly inform pricing strategy and decision-making.
  • Working with stakeholders across Pricing, Data and Product to shape and deliver telematics initiatives.
  • Improving how we approach telematics pricing, including tools, modelling approaches and ways of working.
  • Supporting and mentoring others, helping to grow telematics capability within the team.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in General Insurance pricing, with a clear focus on telematics or usage-based pricing.
  • Proven analytical capability, with experience using tools such as Radar, SQL and/or Python to work with complex datasets.
  • Experience developing pricing models, ideally incorporating telematics or behavioural data.
  • Ability to translate technical detail into clear, commercially relevant insight.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence across teams.
  • A proactive, curious approach, balancing technical, commercial and customer considerations.

Why join Aviva?

This is one of the most exciting and rapidly evolving areas of pricing, where your work will directly influence how we use behavioural data to shape future strategy. Our telematics team sits at a critical point in the value chain, bringing together data, modelling and commercial insight to drive better outcomes for both the business and our customers. You’ll be part of a team that:

  • Has a clear understanding of how their work impacts performance and drives real business value.
  • Thrives on collaboration, working across multiple teams to unlock the full potential of telematics data.
  • Is encouraged to be curious, challenge thinking and push boundaries in a fast-moving space.
  • Places strong emphasis on development and growth, supporting individuals to build deep expertise.

We’re investing heavily in this area and are looking for people who want to take ownership, raise the bar, and help shape one of the most innovative areas within pricing.

What you’ll get for this role

  • Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s).
  • Generous pension scheme e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.
  • Make your money go further - up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave.
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
