Syndicate Accountant

Location: London based (50% hybrid working)

Salary: circa £70,000

This is a great job for someone who has recently achieved their ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification and is looking to build their career within the London insurance market. This role would suit someone with experience in the Lloyd's or wider insurance market who is keen to develop their technical accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting expertise in a collaborative and growing finance team.

Please note that previous experience within the insurance field is necessary to be successful in this role.

A bit about the job:

You'll join the Syndicate Finance team supporting Probitas Syndicate 1492, part of Aviva, where you'll help deliver accurate financial and regulatory reporting across the syndicate. Working closely with Finance and business stakeholders, you'll support month-end and year-end close activities, Lloyd's and statutory reporting, financial analysis, and audit requirements. You'll play an important role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting group reporting processes, and identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and reporting efficiency.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or expecting qualification imminently.
• Experience within the Lloyd's or wider insurance market, with a strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting and insurance accounting principles.
• Experience supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, and regulatory/statutory reporting activities.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with finance systems, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
