You'll lead the end to end management of treaty implementation and contribute to large deal tenders, including some of Aviva's most complex transactions - working through the various quotation stages with the Deals team and ensuring a smooth handover to the Reinsurance Operations team. This is a key role within the BPA Longevity Reinsurance team, carrying significant responsibility and accountability.

A bit about the job:

  • Required to fully lead Aviva's BPA Reinsurance proposals for large, bespoke transactions, ensuring timely delivery of longevity reinsurance terms to the Aviva Deals teams.
  • End to end management of non-standard cases as required, seeking, and implementing wider reinsurance solutions.
  • Reviewing, analysing, and challenging where required, terms offered to Aviva.
  • Act as a source of technical guidance in order to resolve complex technical queries and input into the development of Actuarial practices, making recommendations and advising on issues where appropriate.
  • Working closely with the Structuring team to consider and implement bespoke solutions for Asset Intensive transactions.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Prior line management experience is desirable, along with strong numerical and analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Experience managing Longevity Reinsurance transactions and a solid understanding of defined benefit pension specifications.
  • Qualified Actuary with strong experience in either BPA, DB Pensions, or Annuity Reinsurance preferred and the ability to work in a structured, organised manner, while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and for sharing knowledge across teams.
  • A proactive, innovative mindset with the ability to identify process improvements and contribute practical solutions.

What you'll get for this role:

  • Starting salary competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary, (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's).
  • Generous pension scheme - e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it.

  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer's leave.
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.

Aviva is for everyone: We're inclusive and welcome everyone - we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Excited but not sure you tick every box?
