A bit about the job:
Join our CIO Risk and Assurance team to provide 1st line support, oversight, and challenge across our CIO markets and Group CIO functions. Your focus will be reviewing the IT & Cyber risk and control environment to protect our customers and meet our Risk Goals.
The successful applicant will:
- Lead Market/Functional SME input, guidance, and challenge to ensure compliance with the Operational Risk and Control Management (ORCM) framework, while deepening understanding of IT/Cyber risk and controls.
- Lead risk and control discussions at functional SLTs, including reporting and future planning.
- Utilize data, insights, and SME opinions to challenge risk assessments, control positions, and manage issues and risk events.
- Develop strong relationships with risk, control, and issue owners, providing coaching on ORCM best practices to ensure consistency and proper application.
- Collaborate with all three lines of defense to manage issues effectively and ensure alignment on the control environment's strength, including supporting audit reviews.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Thorough understanding of operational risk management in IT and cyber, preferably within Financial Services.
- Knowledge of IT & Security governance models, frameworks, and policies such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize information clearly.
- Ability to influence all levels of the organization, including senior management, with adaptable communication styles.
