Overview
Risk & Controls Specialist – salary up to £50,000 depending on experience. We have an exciting opportunity to join our 1st line Risk & Governance Team within Governance & Resilience Operations (G&RO) in the UKIWR Governance and Assurance (G&A) Team. You will work with senior leadership teams and risk partners to identify, assess, and document operational risks and to deliver first line risk and assurance services across business standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify risks and develop appropriate mitigations.
- Lead or support delivery of regular control assessments to ensure controls are in place and functioning as intended.
- Develop, implement, and monitor mitigation and remediation strategies.
- Manage issues and risk events, including development of corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date risk documentation and provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies; stay updated on regulatory changes.
Skills and experience
- Knowledge and experience in risk and governance roles, including risk and control frameworks and tools such as IBM OpenPages and Archer.
- Understanding of business standards in scope (Information Technology, Business Protection, Operational Resilience, Procurement and Outsourcing, Health and Safety) and related control frameworks.
- Experience in operational risk management and control assessment.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; able to interpret data and provide insights and recommendations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
