Overview

Property & Casualty Midmarket Underwriter (New Business) – London Office.

You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their existing commercial book of business within Aviva.

This role focuses on partnering with brokers and customers to understand needs, using data insight to deliver whole customer solutions.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Underwriter within one of our London Underwriting teams, supporting the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financials.
  • Drive new business growth while supporting renewals and mid-term adjustments.
  • Regularly visit brokers to develop, build, and strengthen working relationships, ensuring continued market visibility and identifying opportunities to grow the portfolio.

Skills and experience

  • Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience
  • Strong focus on new business development and conversion
  • Ability to analyse risks and communicate effectively to brokers and/or customers
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a large, complex organisation
  • Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation; strong commercial business insight to create and deliver business cases
