This role is ideal for someone with a legal qualification or solid financial services experience, looking to deepen their expertise in personal lines insurance, and brand protection and trademark matters.
A bit about the job
We’re looking for a paralegal to join our UK General Insurance legal team. You will be joining a committed and collaborative team currently based primarily in Norwich.
The role will support Aviva’s UK GI Personal Lines business to deliver its products including home, motor and travel insurance.
You will also provide support to the wider Aviva group with protecting its brand and trademark portfolio.
You’ll work closely with senior lawyers on legal and regulatory matters, helping to deliver first‑class legal advice to the business across a range of insurance products, distribution channels and brands.
Expect to assist with reviewing customer communications, documentation and marketing materials as well as conducting legal research and negotiating confidentiality agreements.
You will also support the management of Aviva’s trademark portfolio, including assisting with searches, filing and prosecution activities, and supporting the protection and enforcement of Aviva’s intellectual property rights.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Law degree or equivalent.
- Some knowledge of intellectual property and/or UK General Insurance personal lines products and distribution arrangements would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and administrative skills and ability to manage your own workload.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and developing expertise across a range of legal matters.

- Salary circa £30,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – 8% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
