A bit about the job:
- You’ll be part of one of our Southeast underwriting teams covering Kent, Surrey and Sussex, working collaboratively to support both the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financial targets.
- The role focuses on underwriting motor fleet risks, developing broker relationships and contributing to profitable portfolio performance.
- You’ll manage your own diary in a busy environment, balancing underwriting activity with broker engagement and internal collaboration.
- Alongside this, you’ll support the development of others within the team and continue to build your own technical capability, including working towards underwriting licence levels aligned to your grade.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Previous underwriting experience, with motor fleet experience preferred but not essential.
- Ability to assess and analyse fleet risks and communicate decisions clearly to brokers and/or customers.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working collaboratively within a large, complex organisation.
- Good knowledge of FCA requirements and other relevant insurance regulation and legislation, combined with strong commercial acumen.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £45,000 and £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
- Bonus opportunity - actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
- Generous pension scheme e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%.
