This is a great opportunity for an experienced pricing leader with a strong background in pet insurance pricing and trading. You'll bring deep knowledge of the pet insurance market, including aggregator pricing, alongside a proven track record of developing and delivering successful pricing strategies. A bit about the job: As Pet Pricing & Underwriting Lead, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for driving profitable growth through the development and execution of market-leading pricing and underwriting strategies. Working at the heart of our Pet business, you'll use your understanding of the pet insurance market, products and customer behaviours to ensure we remain competitive across both direct and aggregator channels.
This is a senior leadership role where commercial decision-making and trading performance are critical. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities to optimise pricing and underwriting approaches, responding to market dynamics, and delivering sustainable growth while maintaining strong customer outcomes. You'll act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, shaping pricing strategy, influencing key business decisions and ensuring the team delivers against ambitious growth and profitability targets. Alongside this, you'll continue to develop pricing capability, support innovation and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and reinsurance partners.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Significant experience leading insurance pricing teams at a senior level, with a proven track record of delivering commercial and trading outcomes.
- Strong experience in pet insurance pricing, including hands-on experience of aggregator pricing and trading strategies.
- Deep understanding of the UK pet insurance market, customer segments and product propositions.
- Proven ability to develop and implement pricing and trading strategies that drive profitable growth and improve market competitiveness.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience translating pricing insight into business action and working effectively with senior leaders, distributors and reinsurers.
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary c. £120,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary, (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.)
