We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and careerâdriven trading underwriter to join one of our Londonâbased commercial underwriting teams. This is a great role for someone who is a multiâclass underwriter (Property and/or Liability) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow a book of commercial MidâMarket business, predominantly focusing on New Business working within a hybrid end-to-end team.
This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to building a strong portfolio of brokers and customers. You will play a vital part in expanding our market presence and driving the success of our London City Branch. Aviva has introduced âsmart workingâ, and the person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable regularly travelling to our London offices.
A bit about the job:
You will work collaboratively within one of our London underwriting teams to support both the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financial growth plans with a focus on New Business. The successful candidate will work closely with our brokers and customers to gain a deep understanding of their needs. By leveraging data insights, you will ensure that we deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each customer. Strong organisation and timeâmanagement skills are essential, including the ability to manage your own diary effectively in a fastâpaced environment.
Skills and experience weâre looking for:
- Previous Property or Liability underwriting experience
- Strong ability to analyse risks and communicate effectively to brokers and/or customers
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a large, complex organisation
- Confident trading abilities with a broad panel of brokers and good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
- Strong commercial acumen to create and deliver business cases

- Salary: Competitive depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
