This is a great job for someone who is experienced in financial risk management or investments and is looking to apply their expertise within a Group-level credit risk team. This role would suit someone with strong analytical and modelling capabilities, who is comfortable working across multiple business units and engaging with senior stakeholders.
A bit about the job:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to join the Group Credit Risk team within Group Financial and Sustainability Risk. Investment and credit risks are the largest risks Aviva faces, and managing these effectively is central to protecting customers and delivering shareholder value.
In this role, you will provide oversight and support to all Business Units, including Group Centre, Asian businesses and Mixer, in relation to their credit risk management. You will contribute to deep‑diving analysis, support decision‑making during financial stress events, and help ensure we operate within Board Risk Committee appetites. The team plays a vital role in enabling Aviva to grow in a safe and sustainable way. The role will require regular travel to London.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in financial risk management or investments, with knowledge of investment markets, asset classes, and risk/return drivers
- Proven analytical, interpretative, and modelling skills, with sound judgement and attention to detail (coding/modelling experience preferred)
- Experience supporting risk reporting, exposure assessments, and financial or regulatory reporting (e.g. Solvency II desirable)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines (risk, actuarial, accounting, asset management)
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £60,000 and c. £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity – Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
- Generous pension scheme – e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%
